Benjamin Mathews Appointed Co-Managing Director
After five years as Director of BenBau, Ben Mathews has been appointed Co-Managing Director of BenBau Management GmbH, joining his father Barney Mathews.
For BenBau, this appointment reflects continuity and stability – the foundations the company has been built on since 2008.
BenBau is a family business with Irish roots, built on long-term relationships, practical experience and teamwork. The company has grown from a single operation into an international construction group with a presence across Germany, Sweden, Denmark and beyond. That growth reflects the people behind it: the teams who bring experience, commitment and practical problem-solving to every project.
Benjamin has been closely involved in group strategy, modernisation initiatives and the strengthening of BenBau’s internal structures and systems. His new role reflects the ongoing maturation of the company as we continue to build for the future.
We also want to acknowledge the wider leadership team, including Eamon Regan BSc MRICS, Managing Director of BenBau Sweden, Liviu Muresan, Director of Operations, and our Board of Directors, whose guidance and experience continue to support the company’s next stage of growth.
BenBau has never been just one person. It is the sum of its parts: a family business, a growing international team and a company built on shared effort. Our focus remains the same: prioritising safety to deliver construction services of the highest quality, on time, every time.
Congratulations, Benjamin.
Takeaways from Data Centre World
Data Centre World Frankfurt confirmed what we’ve been seeing on the ground. Demand is real, growing and spreading across Germany.
With Frankfurt capped by capacity constraints, Berlin, Munich and Düsseldorf are emerging as the next key hubs for the German market. As these regions scale towards gigawatt-class supply, the need for reliable concrete and structural delivery becomes critical.
BenBau is headquartered in Berlin with active projects in Frankfurt. We deliver the concrete and structural packages that hyperscale data centres are built on, backed by in-house design, ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 certification across our operations, and a consistent record on quality, safety and programme.
As the market moves, our teams move with it.
Thank you to everyone who has followed along. That is 25,000 people connected to what BenBau is building across Germany and the Nordics.
We started this page to show the work. Concrete pours, site teams, project milestones, the day-to-day of hyperscale data centre construction. The numbers show that resonates.
More of the same to come.
BenBau Strategy Summit 2026
Every department at BenBau gathered to present their goals for the second half of the year. QS, marketing, finance, HR, IT, operations, design, recruiting, legal, HSE, executive, and asset management all in the same room, working through an honest assessment of where we are and where we’re heading.
Led by Managing Director Ben Mathews alongside our Strategy Manager Nora Christians, the session, hosted in Berlin with virtual participation from our Swedish team, gave each department a clear view of the others’ priorities. Better understanding between teams means better delivery on site.
Thanks to everyone who presented and contributed on the day.
Norweigan Expansion
BenBau AS, our new Norwegian legal entity, gives us a direct foothold in one of Europe’s fastest-growing data centre markets. Installed capacity is forecast to climb from around 770 MW today to nearly 2 GW by 2030, driven by over 95% renewable hydropower and a naturally cool climate that keeps operational costs down. Investment is accelerating to match.
This registration extends our presence across Germany and the Nordics as we continue building in the markets where hyperscale demand is concentrated.

Meet the Finance Team
As BenBau grows across Germany and the Nordics, so does the team behind the numbers.
What began as a lean finance function has grown into a cross-border team supporting construction operations across the group. The footprint is still expanding.
Right now the team is focused on:
• Rolling out BenBau’s new group ERP
• Automating payments and consolidating reporting across our German and Nordic entities
• Building the financial backbone for our project pipeline
A few words on the people behind it.
Okan joined BenBau as Head of Finance in March 2026. Since then, the team has delivered measurable gains in efficiency across several areas of the business.
Based in Germany, Ihsan, Monica and Nhu (Financial Accountants) at BenBau Management GmbH cover finance, accounting and treasury activities across the group and sites.
In Sweden, Jaghma (Financial Controller) and Elin (Administrative Coordinator) at BenBau AB manage daily collaboration with local departments and sites, while overseeing finance, accounting and treasury.
The team works across borders and departments, moves quickly on small improvements and keeps close contact with operations and management. We’re proud of this team. More to come.
IK Sätra Finish Mid-Season in Fourth
All eyes are on the World Cup right now. The best players, the biggest stage.
BenBau keeps its sponsorships closer to home.
As sponsors of IK Sätra in Division 3 Södra Norrland, we follow the season properly. Our Swedish MD Eamon Regan BSc MRICS is a regular at local games, and the table makes for good reading at the halfway point: fourth place, three points off the top.
The standout result so far was a 3-2 comeback against IFK Mora, overturning a 2-0 deficit at half-time. Smaller stage, but a result worth watching.
Enjoy the summer break, IK Sätra. Well played.
Partner Shoutout
BenBau is only as strong as its partners.
Every build needs a solid foundation, and reliable partners are part of ours. ComPartners Sverige keep our teams connected across sites, so communication stays seamless on the ground. NorthTracker give us full visibility over our assets, fleet and machine maintenance, so our operations run the way they should.

Thank you both for your continued support.
