From sponsoring association football team IK Sätra in Gävle to GAA Sentanta Minors team in Berlin and GAA Team Hunterstown in County Louth, Ireland, BenBau has a deep and abiding interest in supporting local sporting teams, allowing communities to share in common rituals, bond together, and create oppornuties for future generations.
One of our proudest moments as a company came when our founder, Barney Mathews, came into contact with Bill Morse and the Rural Schools Village project, providing crucial education for children in Cambodia.
On November 17th 2025, Barney was present to help open the school in Sampreang, near Siam Reap, a truly momentous occasion that speaks to the bigger picture of the BenBau mission — creating a future that we can all rely on.

The Irish community in Berlin might only be in the four figures, but from restaurants and pubs, to cultural events and sporting clubs, to companies such as BenBau, they have made a significant impact on the multicultural nature of the city. This is why we always do what we can to support Irish people and values in and around our headquarters.
Recently, we took a visit to the Ambassador Maeve Collins’ residence for an event in the summer, coinciding with Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade Simon Harris’ visit to the city. Additionally, we were a proud sponsor of the Irish Film Festival in Berlin, shining a spotlight on Irish creatives through cinema.
BenBau is deeply honoured to be supporting the Aman Lara project. They provide safe passage, support and protection to refugees.
