BenBau Funds School in Rural Cambodia

BenBau is happy to sponsor Bill Morse and the Rural School Village Programme, building a new school in Sampreang, Cambodia. The project is by and for the community, using local materials and hiring local workers. Bill and his charity partnered with local Khmer woman Heng Somali, who began her construction company over a decade ago, and her husband, Born Sophal, to provide brick-and-mortar building raised above the floodplain. The Schools initiative was established based on needs identified by the local community, with the schools all accredited as part of the national education system. With the exception of Bill and his wife, the entire charity is Cambodian-run!

Our founder, Barney Mathews, was inspired to take part in this project during a trip to Cambodia, where Bill’s story and his generous initiative strongly resonated with the values that BenBau holds dear. As a company that always builds with the future in mind, we are happy to sponsor projects such as these which safeguard the futures of many generations to come. That’s why we were compelled to contribute 40,000 USD for the entire build.
