April 2026: News and Updates

It’s May 1st, a public holiday in Germany, and a chance to celebrate workers around the world. Here at BenBau, we take the people who work here extremely seriously, and are always happy to celebrate their success. This month’s newsletter is dedicated to new hires, old faces, awards and renewed opportunities, showing how the connections we have fostered stand us in good stead for the rest of the year. Read on to learn more!

2000-m-poured

2,000 m³ in Two Months

That was the output from our Sweden site this quarter. The crew met expectations, held FM2 tolerance across the package and logged every pour without incident.

We brought in pizza and soft drinks to mark the occasion. A small gesture for a team that delivered exactly what was needed, when it was needed.

vertical-rescue

Vertical Extraction Rescue

On one of our sites, we performed a vertical extraction rescue and first aid drill using a helicopter-style stretcher and scaffolding winch.

In this training scenario, a victim located in the pit is confined, requiring a vertical extraction. By mounting a winch on scaffolding, we are able to lift the victim out of the pit, using best practices to ensure optimal evacuation. This was followed by a post-rescue first aid demonstration, assessing ABCs (Airway, Breathing, Circulation), looking for fractures and documenting the victim’s condition. We sincerely hope we never have to engage in this type of extraction, but if it happens, rehearsals like these ensure that we are prepared.

subcontractor-of-the-month

Subcontractor of the Month – March

Our multiservice team picked up this award from our client on 7th April, recognising the work put in across March. A strong start to 2026, built by the people on site.

Well done to everyone involved.

liviu

Eight Years Since Liviu M. Joined

This week marks eight years since Liviu M. joined BenBau. In that time, he has moved from Construction Manager to Group Operations Director, taking on more responsibility at each stage as the business grew and our work expanded.

Thank you, Liviu.

David Royer Joins The Design Team

David has recently joined the design team, reflecting the growth in our in-house design capacity as BenBau takes on more complex work across Germany and the Nordics.

In-house design and BIM are central to how BenBau delivers. Having that capability under one roof means complex problems get resolved before they reach site. We’d like to thank the Design Team again for their hard work.

ovidiu

Client Safety Award – Ovidiu

On site last week, BenBau multiservice worker Ovidiu caught the attention of our client’s H&S team. He stepped in to help their workers without being asked. The client’s team presented him with a meal voucher for his efforts.

Well done, Ovidiu.

IK satra2

Our Sponsorship of IK Sätra Continues

Swedish grassroots football at its most unpredictable.

IK Sätra were due to host Forsbacka last Saturday before the match was postponed for 20 minutes due to snow. But the game finally went ahead, and by the second half, blue skies prevailed. So did Sätra. They won 1-0 and sit third in Division 3 Södra Norrland after just four games.

BenBau is the main sponsor for the club. Gävle is where we have been based for several years now, working across a number of data centre projects in the area. Sponsoring the local side is one small way of giving something back to the community that has made us welcome, with our Swedish MD Eamon Regan BSc MRICS a common face among the players.

Tonight, Sätra face Gefle IF, an Ettan Norra first division side and fellow Gävle club, in the District Football Championship. BenBau will be there. Familiar faces are very welcome to join us.

Thank you to Sports Director Abbas Arten for this continued collaboration.
